#Display/Card for CAD??

Tom,
I wasn't trying to imply that all your boards were over $1,000, because I
know they're not. I was just talking in general terms and when I think of
high end Acad boards in that price range, I think of Artist and Rasterex.

Brad,
No problem… I realize that *you* know something about our products, but
many people think "high-end" and are not aware that it can also be
affordable, too.
Tom
Brad,

Why don't I ever see Pixelworks mentioned anywhere? They are not advertised
nor do I see them included in any recent mag reviews. I have one and it
works great. My only reason for this choice was the fact that they were the
ONLY choice if you wanted better than VGA in Xenix 2 years ago.

I guess we talk about what we see most. Pixelworks is still in business,
but their cards are proprietary, in that they are not based on 8514, XGA or
TIGA standards. For this reason, they don't get a lot of press. Also, the
company is being pretty quiet these days. They seem to be concentrating on
the OEM market.
I still like Pixelworks, but they seem to be behind the times a bit.
Evan
Evan,
The last time I talked to one of their main UNIX people, he was running back
and forth to Europe. Maybe they're pushing for that market.
Gale
Gale,
You know, I should think of Pixelworks because they're just down the street
from us, their CEO lives next door to Jake, and one of our employee's
spouses works there.
Anyway, they're still around although they seem to be targeting some of the
other PC CAD markets instead of Acad. It's a little less crowded there.
