#Sun Roadrunner
3 messages in this thread
We intend to purchase a high end ACAD workstation in the next week. Sun has
tempted us to wait until their 386 machine code named Roadrunner is formally
introduced next Wed. (4/06/88). I realize that the official party line is
that ACAD will be available on all popular platforms. But has ADESK workled
with the new Sun product. It has been in beta test at a number of
universities for some time. Help. The truth is that the current Sun products
are slower than our current Compaq 386/20, though they do add a network for
nothing. Which way to go!!!! John Luff 76276,3541
I don't have any information regarding that (how could I it hasn't been
announced).
Maybe next Wed there will be more information available on what the platform
can and can not do, but to speculate on it now would be a waste.
I am sure once the machine is out we will get benchmarks and comparisons so
that will be the best time to gather this kind of information.
Also, if the machine can run the current version, then there would be no
delay, right? We'll have to wait and see.
