The Amiga version is in progress. If all goes as expected, it will be everything that the Mac version _should_ have been. Right now, I'm still trying to work out the face file format, having learned what did and didn't work well on the Mac. Should be fun. — Bob Perez

Bob.. That VMCO thing should be 'TRIVIAL' to write for an Amiga when compared to its oredecessor on the Mac. For a start, the Vox synth stuff is BUILT INTO an Amiga, whereas you needed an optional third party program on the Mac. Also, multi-tasking may come in useful.. ie: One task is a vanilla terminal, while the other task is the 'talking heads' (david byrne?). You could then 'Pull Down' the screen with the talking heads whenever u wanted to see them, and push it away again when not in use. — Jez.

Hadn't thought about dividing up the tasks as you mention, but it does sound like a good idea upon reflection. One of the problems with VMCO was always the rapidly scrolling text window that was too small to begin with. I was going to include a scroll bar, but on the Amiga the pull down screen is a natural. Yeah, the speech driver is external on the Mac, but it's the same driver (s!}d author, Joe Katz). For the record, it's _not_ a third party program..Apple distributes MacinTalk on its developer disks and has the responsibility for maintaining the program. Joe's working on several bugs right now, in fact, brought to his attention after I reported to Apple difficulties I'd had using it with VMCO. Most of those same bugs were fixed by Joe for the 1.1 release of our Amiga software. So, in a small way, VMCO's had a part in getting the Amiga software debugged.
