We maintain an external library of blocks for our drawings in a library called C:\ACAD\BlOCKS. Recently it was necessary to redefign some of the blocks and following the revision, the revised blocks were stored in the library. Some 50 drawings then required that the new blocks be inserted in place of existing blocks with the same name. How nice it would have been, to load the drawing, then type INSERT C:\ACAD\BLOCKS\blockname, have it load and replace the existing block reference thereby changing the blocks located multiple times throughout the drawing. Alas, such is not the case. If the block name is used, it does not seem to be possible to path out and get a block with the same name to redefign the block. The blocks were rather complicated so revising each block in each drawing was the method used but it was rather cumbersome. An option to allow the use of a path to an outside library would sure be a nice I believe. Any possiblity? Thanks. By the way, will I get to meet you in CHI town? I get to go !!!! YEA
