#Sketch beeping

Hi, I was just wondering if you foks might know why when lowering the "pen"
in the sketch command, ACAD sometimes beeps frantically and says (I think)
"raise the pen!" making everyone in the office think that machine has
crashed, or that I have made some insidious mistake, and generally '
causing a great deal of embarrasment. I am using a summagraphics tablet on
a 386 ALR with a keyboard of questionable origin. Alr with a keyboard of

See section 12.5.6 of the AutoCAD Reference Manual, "Protecting
Sketch Accuracy." "Please raise the pen!" is a message generated by
AutoCAD when a disk access will be required within a hundred digitized
points or so. This is to ensure that AutoCAD doesn't lose track of any
points you might try to SKETCH while AutoCAD is writing to the disk drive.
