#Excellence!
8 messages in this thread
John…I left a message on the MSS BBS inquiring about Excellence! The answer
I got was reasonably honest sounding, ie: …in final development, so much
added that debugging has been arduous…much testing being done… new
features required complete updating of support materials…etc.
So, we'll wait. In the meantime, I've got Scribble! and Pagesetter
w/laserscript…a nice combination. By the way, I disagree with your
assesment of Scribble! Keep in mind that Scribble! was developed in 1985…I
mean it is a bit outdated. For it's time it was (and remains) a very reliable
predictable wordprocessor.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Mike,
That is good info, although it directly counters every story they
have put out to the "owners" of Excellence!, oh well, by the way, I guess I
should have stated that for a program almost 3 years old , with only 1 update
Scribble! wasn't that bad, I've had it since then myself, but to not even
keep tself on the forefront, MSS has not really supported its own product.
And agreed, I also have Pagesetter, but (looking on with envy) I do not have
a laser printer. I opted for a HP-7580B Plotter myself for my CADs work.
Wordperfect is interesting, but a little overboard for my needs, so I
opted for Excellence! and really am regreting my choice to this point.
A lot of not really good things have been said anything about MSS
lately, and their non-responsiveness have me concerned. Again thanks for the
info, and we'll wait and see.

Michael,
That's interesting…the last thing John heard was that the manuals were
at the printers and would be back, the the product shipping a few days ago.
They told him the story about new features a month ago.
For a straight port from the world of MsDos, Scribble was a really, really
average program. By Amiga standards, it was extremely mediocre.

Mediocre means of average or medium quality. It wasn't that good. (by C64
word processor standards).
Steve,
That's true, but then I'm a charitable sort. 🙂
