#HOW LONG R10 AVAILABLE?

I will be getting money later in the year to purchase hardware for a new
AutoCAD workstation, and I would like to order R10c10 at that time. Can
anyone tell me if there is a cutoff date, yet, for R10 availability?
I don't have any idea when our money will be available – it depends on the
how badly the recession whacks our budget. If it looks like R10 will not be
available later in the year, then I will purchase it now. But if I wait,
there is always a chance of finding enough to afford R11, if you get my
drift — but that's feasable only if R10 will be available, later! Sigh.

Dan – We usually drop the previous version when a new port is released —
for instance, we don't sell R10 for the SUN after R11 for the SUN is
released. But we sometimes have to keep the older versions available
because large corporations won't buy it now unless we assure them that the
same version will be available for at least <x> number of years. So, the
answer is "Maybe."
Well, OK, Carl — thanks for the dope on future availability of R10. I like
a good, definite maybe!

The policy earns you no points in my book.
I'm trying to legitimize a local pirate by buying a legit copy of Acad for
him. But I don't want to buy R11; what he needs is R10/286/DOS. My dealer
won't | can't sell it to me.
I ran my R11 long enough for it to die with a pointer error, then I put it
away. I haven't even gone through my new copy of Inside Acad for R11.
Why?
Because my boss uses a Mac. He is so pissed about R11/Mac being held up that
we may _all_ be going to Vellum. It _is_ a very nice program, and the
Ashlar salesman is very persuasive, and the boss already has the next- to-
latest version..
