Does anyone know a way to use a 1.4 mg 3 1/2 " drive with the bridgeboard.
Since the controller is on a chip, can another controller be added in one of
the slots? Thanks Frank.

Someone said they tried a COPY II PC board in their Amiga with the
Bridge and it blew the Bridge's disk controller….so I'd guess there is at
least the possibility of problems adding a 2nd disk controller.

Thanks for the info Don. I guess I'll just have to stick with the 1020 at
720K. I wonder if standard IBM drives can be used instead of the 2020
internal drive? It gets more and more confusing. Frank

I'm sure that a standard IBM drive could be used for the 5.25" drive
that comes with the Bridge. I don't know for sure thou since I've not tried
it.

Don, it looks as though it might, however I noticed that the Amiga drives
have a conector for power and one for the control. I notice an IBM drive at
a dealer which had only one place for conection?? Frank

No, the IBM drives have both, but sometimes the power connector (the
4 pin connector) is under the board and not immediately apparent. The
ribbon cable is standard.

Thanks, I'm glad to know that. I've see 1.44 mg IBM type drives at
local swap meets for $110.00. If I can get one of these to work with my
bridgeboard, not only can I devote my external 1020 to the Amiga side, but I
can bring work home from my office without spending so much time formating
and copying to 720K at the office. If you hear of anyone who has experience
or hear any new information, let me know. Thanks again Frank

I don't know if the 1.44 Meg drive will or won't work…at least as a
1.44 Meg drive. It should work fine as a 720K drive and may work as a 1.44
Meg drive.

Thanks Don, I guess the only way I'll know for sure is to take a chance and
try it. Frank
