Has anyone else out there in AutoCAD land had problems with poor (slow or
erratic) cursor movement while using AutoCAD Rel. 11 and DOS 5.0 together.
The question and associated comments arose at our last Users Group meeting
and no one knew whether it was hardware, AutoCAD, DOS, or drivers. Typical
setup was a 386 clone with 4 MB RAM and a SummaSketch digitizer, with
AutoCAD r.11c.2 with NEWDX run on it.
David:
I haven't heard of anything like that specific to R. 11 and DOS 5, unless of
course HIMEM is hiding all the memory from AutoCAD, in which case
*everything* will be V E R Y slow (just use NEWDX).
There is the old AutoCAD 386 – polled mode digitizer problem which causes
cursor "stutter". Try bumping VSCAN up to about 80,000 or so. Check the
I&PG for details.
