I have the latest (arrived in the mail bout 3 weeks ago) and it does not have
requesters, or else I have no idea how to get at them.

guys:
I don't know who started this thread but… GIVE ME REAL,LIVE VI!!!!!!!
Like I use at my Un*x box! That means that Manx's imitation (Z) doesn't cut it
at all!!! (IE if :1,.d doesn't work, go elsewhere!) (If the proceding doesn't
make sense, don't worry, chances are, you'll never see this other than on
Un*x.) Seriously, at least VI tries to bridge the gap between a line oriented
and a WYSIWIG character oriented editor. BTW I would never recommend VI for a
beginner, but am astonished at how many manage to pick it up.
OK – After all the asides – I want REAL VI/EX – no subs, no excuses – HELP!
Dave,
I have seen at least 3 different implementations of vi on the Amiga. I don't
know which is best, or whether any of them implement the commands you need, but
keep looking.
I use vi at work, out of necessity, and CEDPro at home out of choice. I find
vi to be difficult, though probably the most powerful editor I have ever seen,
and have noticed that almost everyone can learn something new about it every
day, and will probably never end up knowing it completely.
What does :1,.d do, anyway? (I'll try it tomorrow. Will I be sorry? <grin>)

If I remember correctly, :1,.d deletes from the first line to the current line
(cursor position?).
