Fred, to supplement what Roger said about Assign [device:] remove -just realize that the command won't free up resources reserved for the device (like memory). All it does is remove the device, period. 🙂

Doesn't Crossdos & vd0: both have programs that remove them from memory? Thoes programs (if I remember right) should do the trick. David D.
