Yes- I know about the autoboot and SCSI I.D. jumpers. The autoboot is off (I have a 1.2 rom), and the SCSI I.D. on one drive is set to 0, and on the other drive is set to 1. As it is, the software goes through and tries to recognize controllers on the SCSI bus..stepping apparently from SCSI 0 to SCSI 7 in its attempt to find a controller. On my system, it's almost as if there is no SCSI connector connected, since it doesn't detect any SCSI devices whatsoever. Hehe..like that remark about the Xmas card list though…!

Hmmmm. You might try using device 2 on the second device rather than one. My memory tells me that I didn't have much luck trying to use device 1 when I first set up my first SCSI chain (Supra main drive, albeit on another computer). When you boot the formatting software and select SCSI 1, LUN 0, does the drive light flash on the proper drive as it attempts to determine which controller/drive is out there? The only other thing I can suggest is to triple-check your jumpers and cables, and look up the number of your favorite tech.
