#ST Emulator?
5 messages in this thread
A man who came to our club meeting this month claimed to have a working ST
emulator for his Amiga. I don't know the details, but he said his came
from Germany.

Is there any way you could find out more about it? I have a couple of
friends that would run right out and buy them, just for one program that is
available for ST, but not Amiga, a music notation program that supposedly
works much better than Dr. T's.

Mike, it won't be easy. The man who said he had one was not an active
member, and I don't recall his name. I will ask around, though. Perhaps
someone else who was there will know him, or will have found out more about
the emulator. No promises, but I'll try.

Betty –
I just uploaded the emulator he's talking about. It seems to be a
Beta/demo of the program. I hear that some thing work, and some don't. I
know that I tried a couple of programs, and they ran but didn't do all they
were supposed to. One was a terminal program, and it worked fine but
wouldn't talk to the modem. I think it still needs a lot of work, but
they're heading in the right direction.
The desktop is all in German, and it supports all three resolutions of
the ST. The mouse movement is smoothest in hires (640×400 mono) but the
gray shades they chose to avoid the flicker problem are a little difficult
to work with.

Harry,
Thanks for the upload. I believe that the emulator our club member has is
a commercial one – perhaps a later, finished version of the demo you
uploaded? He had purchased the one he had, but I don't know where.
I do appreciate your uploading the program, and also your report on its
use.
