#C++ compiler?

Is there a C++ compiler available for Amiga Unix? I don't believe one comes with it, does there? Where is Greg Comeau when you need him? Also, I asked this earlier, but will throw it out again – is Oracle or Ingres available for Amiga Unix? I received a reply that Oracle was thinking about it or something – does anyone know for sure? Last, but not least, does anyone know if Amiga Unix will run with a 68040 system? I asked before but noone replied, and I still have the same question.

Comeau C++ 2.1 and CCsh (a Bourne Shell Compiler) were two of the first applications to be available for Amiga UNIX (somewhere around last March as I recall). The Amiga UNIX market is still pretty small. In fact, as well as we've done on the AmigaDOS side of things, except for a number of review copies that went out at the time of the port, frankly, we have yet to sell one for Amiga UNIX (our products works fine though, just that the market ain't there).

Also, does it work the the Unix C compiler or the GNU C compiler? Or does it matter and it works with both? -Jay Pedersen

(As I recall though, we got it working with GNU C as well just as equally — don't hold me to that as that is not what we are selling it with though).

Greg, I don,t know if you remember, but a while ago I Emailed ypu my address for some info on Comeau C++, but I never recieved it. I would like to ammend my request as I am now on 5 different computers with four different operating systems. I need info about AmigaDOS, AmigaUnix, and SCO Unix (on a 80486, if that makes a difference) availability, compatibility, and prices. If you need it I am also going to email my address. Thanx 🙂

Jay, yes…Comeau does produce a C++ for the UX machine I do not believe that Oracle or Ingress is available for the UX … yet No idea on the '040 Don
