#DAT?

We're a multiplatform household. I've got a 2000, a peecee clone and
several Macs. I just bought a DAT (Archive Python). Performance on my
Mac is really terrific (258M copied and verified in less than an
hour, 7M incremental in less than 3 minutes) so now I'd like to use
it on the peecee and the Amiga. The peecee is easy since there's lots
of backup software that recognizes it. I just need to add a SCSI
board.
On the 2000, I've got a SCSI board (GVP Series II) but it's manual
doesn't say anyhting about tape. My QuarterBack manual says it
recognizes streaming tapes but I don't think they mean DAT. Is anyone
using a DAT on the Amiga? If so, can you give me a clue as to how
you set it upo and what software you're using? Thanks
Hmm.. I guess you need to know things like the block size, command set and
so forth..
I managed to make a SCSI QIC drive work..
I am currently using a DAT drive (Archive Python), with performance
ranging from about 3.5 to 10.5 megs/minute, depending on what I am
writing to it. I developed my own software though, since the one
method I tried (tar, and Markus Wandel's tape-handler) did not work.
There are several other tape handlers out though, and one of them
might work.
Metadigm owns the rights to my programs, and they can be contacted
via Vic Wagner, 76046,3004, here on Compuserve. I don't know what the
current status of the software is.

looks like someone (only 1) has downloaded them already. looks like I
should have put them in the 24-bit IFF art library, but, … hope you like
them.
