#486DX/33 and 4067

I've been asked to build a machine for a friend who's into video tape
editing. She has chosen to use Animator Pro, and I've been told this
package requires a Wietek co-processor.
Can anyone tell me where I might find a 486DX/33 motherboard that's
socketed for the 4067? I'm having quite a time finding one.
No sir, Animator Pro does not require a Weitek 4167 (not 4067) to run (it's
optional for 3d studio) and I don't think the package is even optimized to
use the weitek either. (Correct me if I'm wrong, chaps). I did check the
anipro "installation and performance guide" and saw no mention of it. Even
if it was designed to use it you'd pay about $1200 for this co-processor
when you'd be better off buying more memory, or another 486/33 instead.
Running out of main memory and the consequent paging to disk is what really
slows down animator pro. With hi-res flics you can quickly be wondering
where that 16Mb went, plus playing flics out of main memory as apposed to
off the disk almost always produces smoother playback.

Thank you for your reply, and sorry about the 4167 typo. I did see an
article in Computer Buying World about co-processors that mentioned
Animator's ability to "properly" use a 4167, and it sounded to me like it
was a hard-and-fast requirement. You're right that $1200 would buy a lot of
memory.
