Very nice piece on 3DS r2 in the April '92 issue of Computer Graphics
World. Have yet to receive my update so I can't identify what the image
inset is supposed to be – though…it's cool!

There are actually THREE items of 3D Studio interest in the April issue of
CGW. Our new 2-page spread ad is on pgs.10-11, there's the new product
announcement, and there's a great article with color illustrations on pgs
77-80 called "The Animation Option" that discusses how engineering projects
can benefit from animation. There's a nice 3DSr2 illustration on page 78
that shows off the new automatic mirror reflections.
What do you think of the new ad? (I'm very curious since I put alot of
work into it.)

I thought the display ad was great. Those two pages really tell a good
story and touch on a wide range of capabilities of release 2. I should
think that to someone shopping around for software, they'd spend more time
with this ad than the one for Showplace a few pages earlier!

Thanks for the feedback. We're happier with this ad than with any other ad
we've ever done.
(I didn't even _notice_ the Showplace ad. I'll have to go back and find
it.)

Well, I finnaly got my copy of CGW today, awesome ad. It blows away all the
other software ads. The MTV stills look fantastic Thanks for the credits!

Let me add my 'kudos' to all connected with the new ad. I got my
copy of CGW today and my jaw dropped when I saw the spread. WOW!! For what
its worth, I think it's the finest ad to come out of Autodesk. I hope the
company continues to do what it did to get this type of presentation.
James, special kudos to your MTV stuff. I may be biased, yet I think this
ad blows all the other 3D softwre ads out of the water…

Gary, FWIW, I was very impressed by the new ad. and the stuff in CG. If I
were someone at one of the "other" companies, I get real nervous about what
r2 had to offer. you probably have heard this a lot lately but r2 is
nothing short of AMAZING! The Yost Group has done a Fabulous job on 3d
Studio! the CD was a great idea.
