I would like to know what type of cd-rom drives are supportted by the Sound Blaster Pro SCSI port. I would like to replace the cd-rom drive I am now using with one that is compatible with the SBpro pcb and thereby save a slot on my motherboard. Has anyone added a drive to the Sound Blaster pro without buying it from Creative?

Jim, The SCSI port on the Soundblaster Pro is proprietary and will only work with their drive. However, I have heard that their drive (a Panasonic, I think) is fast and suitable for multimedia. Ceyan

Thanks for the Info…. I haven't called them to inquire about the cdrom drive kit yet. Do you have any idea of the price?

I ordered one from computability for 359, including software… should have it soon. Rick
