Hi all… I am interested in getting UNIX for my 3000 but I have some questions. 1) How much storage space does UNIX take? I have an external SYQUEST drive. Will it fit on that? 2) Where do I get it and how much does it cost? 3) Can I get a 24-bit graphics board so I can run openlook, openwindows, and other software like MATHCAD and Mathematica? All your help is greatly appreciated. -Timothy Stonis

Timothy; >…UNIX – how much storage? SyQuest?….. UNIX will fit on an 88 Meg SyQuest, just barely. Definately will not fit on a 44 Meg. UNIX with X/Open Look will probably not fit on the 88 Meg (not sure about that one however. The full installation with all source take just under 200 Meg. If you have a 100 Meg internal in the 3000 then a normal installation with X/OpenLook will work. >Where do I get it and how much…? You should be able to get it from your Amiga Dealer. The cost will be about $900 for the two user license or about $1200 for the unlimited user license. >… 24-bit graphics board…" Yes the C= Lowell graphics board does work. Not sure about other boards. An Amiga with less than 18 Meg memory is pretty slow. At least my Amiga with 9 Meg crawls compared to the machine with 18 Meg. -bill/ARS KB7LX
