Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have sent you information on the cache in your mailbox. CD Speedway is very unique, in that 1) it works. 2) it works in conjunction with disk caching software (i.e. FAST!, or SMARTDRV), and 3) that the way we cache is proprietary (patent pending). Please don't think that I'm just blowing my companies horn. Look for CD Speedway in the next TIGER SOFTWARE ad campaign.

I'm interested in some info. I have the Sony 7205 (LaserLibrary Kit) and I understand that PAS is due to release a soundboard that will make the 7205 a MPC device. So, if your product is for use only with an MPC device I plan to upgrade the Sony to MPC when the PAS board is available. Thanks in advance.

Send me some info on your new product for CD BTW I thought FAST! would cache a CD or at least it reduces the read time or seems to anyway Thanks ..Dave Creamer

You're right, FAST! will certainly work in conjunction with the CD Speedway product. The difference is that CD Speedway is specifically a file cache. It is optimized to work either in conjunction with your favorite disk cache (i.e. FAST!) or with a RAM DISK, if you prefer to keep using SMARTDRV or the like. Access times on the cache have exceeded 8000% improvements and I know how hard that is to believe….all we ask is that you try it and see…. Reese.

I don't know about FAST! specifically, but many disk caches will not cache a CD-ROM drive. Most disk caches won't cache a network drive letter (this is to prevent problems with concurrent access, or because the cache traps BIOS calls rather than DOS calls). DOS treats a CD-ROM drive just like a network drive. Therefore, most caches ignore CD-ROM drives.

Brian….Information should be in your mailbox by the time you read this reply. Quickly though, CD Speedway should provide at least an average 500% improvement overall for your read access times.
