In the autocad 11 manual there is a reference to plot spooling using the dos tsr print to plot in the background while drawing in autocad. It mentions however, that 'print' only works with text files. How then is this accomplished?

tsuneo, You will probably have better luck with that question in the autocad forum (go acad). This forum is for Autodesk's multimedia and other software. Martin

Tsuneo: You can use the PRINT command to send plot files, but only if you rebuild your plotter cable. The cable configuration illustrated in the AutoCAD Installation and Performance Guide (I&PG) only works if you use XON/XOFF. There are also a number of plot spooling programs that do what you want to do, without having to change cabling. My company sells one of the better known programs, PLUMP-Rx. The ACAD forum would be a more appropriate place for AutoCAD-specific questions in the future. And I'd be glad to answer any specific questions you might have about plot spooling. David

Hi You should redirect your AutoCAD questions to the Acad forum; go adesk. We do the multimedia stuff here: 3D Studio, AA Pro, etc.
