Help! I am in dire need of a De-fragmentor for a Hard Disk. I do not wish to make a full back up, re format and then re instate the whole de there any one out there that might be able to help me?

If you are unwilling to make a complete backup, then do nothing. It would be extremely foolish to use any program that rearranges the data on your harddisk without having a current, _full_ backup.

QBTools, a commercial program, will do this. Version 1.5 is fairly stable – but before you proceed, at least make a backup of things you don't have on floppy. Any data you've created yourself. For example, losing power during the reorganization will lose you most of your hard drive. …Steve

That is really to bad. I was hoping that there would be someone out t that would have written a public domain, or at least shareware program. I say this because I have seen a lot of programs that indeed check and tell how much fragmenttation there is. – I am however willing to back it up. (that is what I ALWAYS end up Doing) 🙂
