#Quantum P80S Specs?

Hi, folks!
Anyone know the correct entries (heads, tracks, blocks, cylinders,,
etc.) for a Quantum P80S hard drive?

Quantum P80S pro drive:
CYLINDERS = 2343
HEADS = 1
BLOCKS PER TRACK = 70
BLOCKS PER CYLINDER = 70
At least, that's how HDToolbox reads the unit off my system.

Yeah, that's the way it comes up on mine, too… but I remember when I
added my Quantum 105, it came up as 1 head, but I was later advised to
change the entries to reflect 4 heads. Got quite a little performance
boost. I was hoping there's an alternate entry for this drive as well.

Chris,
I have specs on the LPS80, which may or may not be the same for the
P80. 4 heads, 167,680 logical blocks. I don't know how many blocks per
track, however. Perhaps your format program has some insight. If not, you
could try the 70 that someone else suggested or try one or more of the
following: 25, 27, 33, 43, or 66. Those are the bpt for some of Quantum's
other drives.

The specs for the AT version uses 17 blocks per track and 2,464
tracks ( hi track is 2343.) You might try that to see how that works. 4
heads with 17 blocks per track and 2,464 cylinders will produce the correct
total number of blocks. If the P80S is like the AT version, that should
work. Definitely don't use 1 head!
