I'm having a little problem w/my VGA card re Windows. The first time the
computer boots, the driver, for some reason doesn't come up, so I can't
get to Windows. If I reboot, it's fine. Naturally, the card is by ATI –
the Wonder XL. Is there anything I can do about this? Rearrange my
config.sys or some such? Thanks in advance for the advice. (Yes, I have
reinstalled the drivers – a few times; yes, the Windows driver is

Just a thought. When you first run the BB software do you have the
computer switched to the VGA monitor? When the BB first starts the VGA card
will attempt to set the monitor. If you haven't switched over to the VGA
monitor before the BB starts, then the VGA card may not be able to talk to your
VGA monitor. Of course, once your running and reboot, the VGA monitor IS
connected and everything appears to work fine. I have had a similar experience
with my setup. What I do is as soon as I run the BB software, I switch over to
the VGA monitor even before the BB begins it's initial setup. That seemed to
solve the problem for me.

Sorry to butt in but I've been reading the thread on VGA.
I currently just U/G'd to 386 BB and need info. Is it better to manually start
the BB s/w or autostart it as I do now. (When I start PCwindow, I'm in MSDos
and autoecxec.bat has completed) If so, what's the best way. Also, if
installing a VGA card, I presume its a good idea to get a switchbox for the
multisync monitor…..

Now I'm butting in! Whether you "autostart" the BB (run PCWindow
from the Startup-sequence–is that what you mean?) or not depends on
whether you always want access to it, and whether you have enough
memory to have the PCWindow program running all the time. The
Bridgeboard always boots itself as soon as you run Binddrivers–the
PCWindow program just gives you keyboard and screen access to it.
