I managed to find Desktop Video World on a newsstand before I tracked down
your distributor. (3-D issue, by the way) And boy, am I impressed! You could
knock me over with a feather. The design is very tasteful. It manages to be
artsy (a must for DTV mags) without going over the top. It never gets in the
way of readability. I _love_ those understated graduated fills, especially the
boxes under the summary that opens each review. And the contents is quite
pleasurable to read. You have put out a wonderful new magazine, Lou; my
congratulations.
P.S. Reading it is like a mild drug that lets me indulge in an escapist
fantasy world where Amiga, Mac and PC are all considered viable machines worthy
of press coverage. Thanks.

Thanks Charles! I'll pass this message on to the design and editorial
departments. We have tried to do just what you describe, which is have
substantial content and an artistic design that conveys the creative spirit of
the technology and people using Desktop Video, Multimedia and Animation. I'm
glad you like it. And you will be glad to know we will continue to try and make
it even better with each issue.
Our next issue will be out in early May. It covers Special Effects software,
video compression (full motion) plug in cards, music hardware, video processing
with Photoshop, the Fast Video Machine, camcorders, and a whole lot more.

Has there been a problem getting this issue into bookstores? I've been
three bookstores in town (twice) and I can't find it! We have a B
Dalton's and a Waldenbooks. The first issue flew off the shelf, and now I
can't find the second!

Perhaps teh second was scooped up too! Anyway, DTV World is supposed to be on
around 20,000 newstands in the US…
Perhaps the best solution is to just subscribe. It's cheaper, you get it
earlier and you KNOW it will arrive. Lou

I agree! I think that Lou and his staff have done a fantastic job. I hope
that this magazine takes the DTV world by storm… it actually treats the
Amiga and other platforms as TOOLS, and shows how to get the most out of
them.

I Dunno but I've seen the same phenomena. Mail something to a Matre in
Upstate NY it takes a Week, Mai; Something to a Bloke in CA and it takes 3
days. Bloody Strange eh Wot?
Careful, Blaq… if the mainstream press finds out there is a mag like
that, they'll probably get the printers to boycott it. :^)
