#Com Transfer Dilemna
4 messages in this thread
Can anyone help me how to connect my PC with my 2000? I have direct modem cable
runnning from COM1 on the PC to the SERIAL port on the 2000. Now What? I have
Telix for the PC and about the only thing I could find quick was JR-COMM for
the Amiga. Do I need different software to transfer Image files from the PC to
the Amiga? I am used to only doing modem transfers, so I am not sre where to
start or woho to ask. Thanks!!
Use an archiver in common to both machines – like zip. Then simply modem the
zipped file across – and decompress on the other end. ADPro should take care of
the rest (assuming you are working with a format ADPro knows about).
That wasn't the problem…the problem was how to do the transfer. I finally
figured it out though. I am using ATALK III , null modem adapter, and DSZ on
the PC end. They are Targa files. Thanks for the response.
LHA is a MUCH more stable program for use with transferring images across
between the Amiga and other platforms. Another benefit is that all the
platforms that you might want to use support LHA, but few fully support the ZIP
format.
Null modem cables work great between the Amiga and Pee Cee, but you sometimes
have to disable the carrier detect requirement.
