#Panasonic 1970 & AmiLink
11 messages in this thread
Hmmmfph… all geared up to go with three Panasonic 1960 VCR's and AmiLink w/
VT and what happens??? Poof, the 1960 is up in smoke and when the grunge is
wiped away, there is a 1970 in its place… but what about AmiLink I ask…
RGB Amilink is currently working on an upgrade for the 1970's, they claim it
should be out within a few weeks. Sam. exit
Take a look at the AG-5700 instead of the 1970, only about a $200 price
difference per machine. IMHO the TBC in the 1970 is practically
worthless.
Amilink has no protocol for controlling the AG-5700 which has an RS-232 port
Sam.
Sam, I must have missed that point about him requiring Amilink support.
Be nice if they added support for the AG-5700 too. BTW Does B&H RENT
Equipment or can you recommend a good Rental house here in NY?
I'll POSSIBLY be needing some Lighting and Camera's for a Video project
I'm devoloping and would rather NOT buy all this equipment for what will
probably 1 weeks use. Thanx for the help.
AmiLink with a V-LAN controller does support the AG5700.
Any V-LAN controller on the AmiLink can use the free AG5700 driver.
AMILINK uses V-LAN and V-LAN CX to control all decks. So I beg to differ with
you, but a 5700 can be controlled. Virtually any deck that V-LAN can control,
AMILINK can control.

Sorry I'm so late in replying, we were closed for 8 days. I certainly goofed on
this piece of info. Sam.
Sam,
If I remember correctly, you're at B & H ?? (If not, just ignore me…)
Anyway, I need a ParkerVision CameraMan. I'm currently trying to get the one I
need from a southern distributor, but so far there's no guarantee that I can
get it within the time frame necessary, 1 week. I remembered B & H advertising
these a while back, and called to get more info today. Unfortunately, the guy I
got didn't seem to be terribly informed on the CameraMan issue….. Here's
what I need:
CameraMan Base Unit; prefer XL, would take UVM
Lavalier Tracking Package: consists of front and back sensors, the front being
a wireless mike also
Do you have anything like that???
JERRY HATCHETT
Unfortunately, we don't have the Cameraman's anymore. It was a great idea, but
for some reason did not sell very well. I may still be able to get one, but I
won't know till my buyer gets back from NAB next week. I'll let you know as
soon as I know something. Sam.
