New policy regarding Image Professional upgrades
————————————————
Upgrades to Image Professional to v9.50 and future will not be made
available online. To obtain v9.50 of Image Professional, you may call our
toll-free order line at (800) 852-6442.
We are pleased that we will be able to continue providing support for
users of Image Professional until the 10.0 version of Imagemaster reaches
the market.

I'm extremely sorry to hear IP will not be avalible online. It was a
great way to get upgrades.
Yep – but it had to end sometime, Leslie.

While I have your ear I have an idea for a Notebook-ish product. How
about "INDEX" where you have index cards with a title line and, like CI$,
a key word line for indexing. You could use the same drawing tools as
Notebook and maybe an area to click on to dial a phone number. There are
fanfold index cards for computer printers. INDEX could print out a batch
of index or rolodex cards. The idea sounds similar to Notebook at first
but the more I think about it the more differences I can come up with for
INDEX. Do me a favor and roll it around in your brain. (It's the LEAST
you can do after taking IP off line. <g> BTW, ImageMaster doesn't handle
Ham-E yet, does it?)
IM does HAM-E as renders, but doesn't run native in the mode. Only v10 and
post will be able to do that – it's a design issue.
NoteBook will be getting a complete ARexx interface; when that happens,
you'll be able to assign a script to an object – any object – so making a
phone book card will be trivial. Just make the card once, and save it for
later use. In the phonebook, you'd keep an empty one around and in the
clipboard most of the time. Just paste it on a new page and you have the
fields, scripts and etc you need. It should be great.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say, "IM does HAM-E as renders, but
doesn't run native in the mode." Do you mean there are no Ham-E buttons
but the correct combination of selected options will allow a Ham-E render?
Would you confirm how IP owners will be brought into the ImageMaster
world and what it will cost?
Your NoteBook message is making my mouth water. Can I assume you are
talking about NoteBook 2.0? I hope you will include a BUNCH of scripts
for ARexx retards like myself. <g> Will the ARexx interface allow for
phone dialing? PDaint 4.5 is supposed to have a driver for the TriMedia
Drawing Pad. It would be nice if NoteBook could support a drawing pad. I
HATE drawing with a mouse. One NoteBook question; Why is it when you have
a combination of text and, say, boxes and you hit the UNDO it will
continue to undo the text but leave the boxes alone?
(Lots o' junk in this one message, eh?)
IM can create HAM-E images as output (and very well, too) but image
editing uses the display modes of the native Amiga; while IP uses the
HAM-E modes for image editing, thus providing a very high color/deep
greyscale environment.
IP owners can change from IP to IM at any time, as long as we have you
registered; there is no extra charge. Upgrades to one or the other cost
the same; you can get them both if you like. You'll have the same
opportunity as a "regular" IM owner to jump onto the autoupgrade thing and
get into V10 inexpensively, or, you can do it in a single shot later (and
considerably more expensively).
Since the price for v10 is not (yet) written in stone, I can't be too
specific at this time.
Regarding NoteBook, I don't know what the revision we'll be designated as,
because we aren't that far along as of yet. The ARexx interface would
certianly allow you to dial phones if you have phone hardware that can do
so and speaks ARexx (that's pretty easy – just use the serialarexx library
stuff).
Regarding drawing, NoteBook supports anything the Amiga does. Lightpen,
mouse, trackball, joystick, keyboard. If they add pads, we'll be happy to
support them, too.
Undo (should) undo things in the order they were added… is that not
happening for you?

Okay! I see what you mean about output of IM vs. IP. As far as IP to
ImageMaster v10, what I want to know is if there will be some sort of
grace period for IP owners to make the switch at the pre-IM10 price after
the release of IM 10. I don't want to give up IP's "extended HAM" on
screen editing until it is avalible in IM. Also, is there a release date
for v10?
As for NoteBook, when I get a drawing pad I'll let you know if it
doesn't work with NB. I'm going to try to recreate the undo problem I had
with NoteBook and leave a seperate message.
There will be either no, or a *very* short "grace" period. Advance warning
of the availability of v10 will come though, so you'll have a chance at
that time to go for it. You'll probably have about 30 days warning before
the price changes – as will anyone on the major nets.

The 30 days notice would of the IM price change would make me happy.
Thanks very much!
You bet.

Also, you *always* have my ear. That's why I'm online here. :^)
