Say, I called your 800 number to enquire about the 6809 emulator and no-one
knew anything about it. (So I ordered DSoup instead – is this some sort of
ploy?) In particular I need a price, and evidently a shipping date. Any help
would be appreciated. Thanks,

Ah, yes, the emulator. Well, since you're the first person to ask about it
since the day it was announced, I'm not too surprised. It won't be a
commercial product. Want it? You can have it.
Engineering software on the Amiga is a lost cause.

You just "complained" that nobody had asked about the 6809 emulator since
the day it was released. I remember when you announced it. I was just
pulling your chain a little. Is the 6809 used much embedded controllers or
the like?

Oh, no, I complained that the Amiga is a dead end for engineering
pursuits. Let's be accurate here. :^)
The 6809 is used for many designs – in my opinion, it is the most powerful
8-bit micro ever produced with regard to instruction set flexibility. A
really great design.
There's one under the dash of my Camaro; they're everywhere. Video games,
missiles, process controllers, modems, etc.

Well, I'd be happy to pay you something for it, I've got a 6809 development
board here and the software looks useful.
As far as Amiga the Engineering Tool goes, yeah I agree there's not much hope.
Although I used my ol' A2000 for 3 years of EE school for running SPICE (the
2g6 port), multiplot (did ALL my graphing for lab reports etc – GREAT program),
WordPerfect (Oh Well…files are portable to every machine on the face of the
planet), MatLab (another PD port) and various other math thing-a-ma-jigs. Never
had the money to buy Maple but sure wish I did. Incidently don't you guys
market some board lay-out software?

yes, we market Board Master, which sells slowly at this point. In earlier
Amiga days, it sold very well – when everyone was waiting (I guess) for
"the rest" of the engineering s/w to show up. It never did – so Board
Master is a program with almost no peers at this point; that translates
into almost no demand. It's $99.
EMU6809 will not be a product – I'll wrap it up one of these days and drop
it out PD here on CIS. It's too good to waste; and would require
considerable effort to support properly, which wouldn't be worth the sale
or two it would generate.
