3.0/Zorro 3
10 messages in this thread
Well, I have about given up on trying to get into amiga.dev/cert over on Bix.
Been trying since then end of november to get into that section, but guess the
sysops either don't care or don't have the time to get the info they need from
CBM Canada.
Need information on a couple of items.
First, has there been any work on the printer device in wb 2.1 or 3.0? My
2.04 printer device is 35.603 and want to know if CBM has done anything with
this for 3.0 to allow printing more than 4096 colors. If so, what docs, disks,
etc, do I need to order to get the info and new pritner driver examples?
Second, what docs/what ever give good information on the Zorro 3 bus and
implementing a PIC with DMA capabilities for same? Building a Zorro 2 DMA
controller is a piece of cake, but after reading Dave's article way back when
in the late AWTJ, implementing a DMAC on a pic sounds scary!
Here it is, the end of March, and CBM Canada still hasn't mailed out the
jan/feb AmigaMail!

First of all when I type version printer.device I get:
printer.device 39.6
As to whether this prints any more colors, I cannot say. I, alas, do NOT
have a color pinter at hand.
Haven't looked at doing HW at all yet, 'fraid I can't help their either.
<sigh>
Vic,
Thanks for the info. Sounds like CBM did some work to the printer device for
3.0 Now to find out what!

Hi Bleach,
jwiede, no, is that the second person who has control? I was sending to
david.miller, and the first time got a reply it could take a while cause I
am registered to CBM Canada and will depend on how busy Alex Orgill is.
Sounds like a load of hewey to me. Haven't these guys ever heard of a
data base???

Going to Dayton this year?

What mechanism are you using to reply to messages. I'm NOT Bill Leach,
tho we do own property about 100 miles from each other.
Which either of us would be willing to move to permenantly! <g>

Bill, darn right…and it couldn't be too soon.
Vic;
Actually I think that I am a lot better off here in "SAS" country than you
are there in SoCal! I don't know about the "Great Quake" but I think that
California is in for some really hard times regardless.

Vic, using AutoPilot. Guess it messed up again!

Kelly;
Have you posted bixmail to "jweide"? (I think I have the name right)
