#Zeus Imagine Failure
6 messages in this thread
Helllp,
I have just installed my new Zeus 040 board and have tried to run Imagine.
Everything is fine until I try to render. Right after Imagine goes to
Intialize it crashes the system…..
I thought one of the masses might have had the same problem. Any input is
gladly accepted… 🙂
Thanks
Shawn
Shawn, have you tried turning off Copyback Mode on the 040 board? Does the
system immediately go down or do you get a Software Failure message number
first?
John
Shawn, you probably don't have a version of the software optimized for the
'040. Please call Impulse immediately. Also, contact Progressive to make sure
you have their latest software. –Rick Rodriguez
shawn, i own a pp&s 3000-040, the old motherboard memory kind, and i had some
of the same problems, my guess is that if the error # is 8000.0004 you have
conflicting versions of setpatch and 68040.library, also you should call
impulse and see if your copy of imagine is the right SIZE, K-wise that is.
Hope it works out i love 10 minute traces MATT.
Thanks all for the input, unfortunatly Impulse was not much help. They claim
that its a memory problem. It could be but I find it a bit odd that to render
a group of 8 objects all together would take over 9 megs to render. I am not
even pushing it with any maps at all either.
I wish the people at Impulse would tell me if my version was incompatiable with
my 040 instead I got the response to by at least 16 MB of RAM (OOOuuuchhh – My
wallet talking). Oh well, I love my new 040 and I need the processing power so
I will eventually fix the problem I guess.
BTW I did try to turn "off" several of the Zeus's features with no effect.
Thanks again all, if there are any more thoughts please feel free to drop me a
message in this forum……. 🙂
Ciao

What kind of HD do you have with the Zeus 040 board?
