that's not right! Something's not working properly. Did you reinstall 3ds – the
Intel version – in a different directory?
I know it is not right!! Yes I re-installed the intel version. I set the dos
variable DOSX=-1167 for the bios to recg. my Weitek. When I run Intel files, I
unset this var. When I run the weitek exe's I must reset this variable or I
get the Weitek not found error message.
I have an idea (outof the blue…) Gateway/Micronics has sometimes had really
flaky external cache schemes. I am going to disable it and see what
happens…Maybe a real shot in the dark?
Do you have any ideas of what to look for…
I just ran more test files and you are not going to believe what happend…the
weitek is still faster than a DX2/66.
All numbers are in seconds. Using rdptargp.exp dated 03/20/91 (is this old?)
My external Cache is enabled. 20megs ram v2.01a 70ns ram, 0wait state.

I will upload the files for thers to use. But…these are 'works in progress'

It may not make any difference but I thought you were rendering to null before.
Also, M.Foster's suggestion about separate 3ds directories, one for intel one
for weitek makes since to me; that's the way I did it. Wish I had the weitek
again to see if I could replicate your results. I'll look for your files ( I
got my new modem now–9600 CIS says they will soon go MNP too). This speed
thing is really addicting.g
I uploaded the BENCH.ZIP which contains all of the files I used. Look for it
in this section of the library.
Pls let me know what you come up with.
