Autocad Iges Translator, Autocad Visual Link, Autosurf/Automill. Great apps,
but when (if?) will they run on something other than DOS or SUN? Please let us
know when these will be ported, or explain why not.
Hello, Shaun.
The IGES translator for AutoCAD is available right now. You should contact
your local AutoCAD dealership for ordering and further details.
AutoSURF/AutoMILL for DOS are not out yet. The HPUX and Sun versions are
already available. I don't have any release dates, but watch the AutoCAD Forum
(Go ACAD). There will probably be a release notice posted there.
I don't have any information about Visual Link right now. As far as I know
it's still in beta. Again, watch for a release notice on the AutoCAD Forum. A
notice will probably appear on this forum as well.
I hope this helps,
BobP
I have the AIT, thanks. I hope they port it to Windows.
The Asurf/Amill are being discussed by our company as we speak. Supposedly,
May/June for the release(rumor).
The AVL had a press release a few days back. I'm talking to my rep about it.
I really wanted to let Adesk know that there are other platforms besides DOS
and SUN.
thanks
Hi Shaun,
Autodesk tends to program for other platforms when the demand is high. I don't
know at which point they decide that another platform is worthy of a build, but
I know we do try to spread across.
Since Dos and Sun seem to be the most popular, at this time, we program for
them first. Then we'll focus on other platforms, or operating systems, like
Mac, HPUX, Windows, etc.
I'll forward your request for a wider spread of platform for the product we've
discussed to our wishlist database. The programmers look at these when they
start developing plans for future builds.
If you have any other wishes, please let us know.
