In about 30 days, on May 14th, the AutoUpgrade program will no longer be
available as an option from Black Belt Systems for our Imagemaster
product. Individual upgrades will remain available.
This change in product availability will be made due to changes
anticipated within the Black Belt Systems Amiga image manipulation product
line over the next 12 months.
If you are interested in joining the AutoUpgrade program, you must do so
in the next 30 days.

Is there any way for current autoupgraders to extend their service?
On another note, the "company that competes only by the strength of
their advertising" has a really nice OpalVision operator that calls the
OpalPaint program and allows for the modification of images in its buffer
with OpalPaint. Considering the power of OpalPaint, this feature sure
enhances the utility of the image processing software under discussion. I
know this feature is courtesy of Opal Tech, so I've asked them for similar
support for ImageMaster. I hope that Black Belt is looking into this as it
would be a great addition to IM's arsenal.

Yep, we're looking at that kind of support; Imagemaster's been open for it
since day one, actually.
In fact, we're looking at something else entirely for OpalVision that will
probably make OpalVision owners swoon… :^) Stay tuned.
Regarding the autoupgrades, yes, but you can't extend beyond the terminal
point which is about 1 year and a month from now.

Ben, regarding that "something else entirely for OpalVision" that you are
looking at, I will definately stay very closely tuned. That is a neat board.
Did you know there were seemingly hundreds sold at the WOA. I think you would
like this Centaur outfit (if you don't know them already); from what I
overheard at show they were very cooperative with other developers.

It's no wonder hundreds were sold at the show. It's a great card with a
great paint program and alot of future possibilities. I paid full price
for mine and haven't been disappointed. But at the show price! What a
great deal. If the modules are close in quality to the main board, it'll
be fantastic. Support is good and the software is updated at a robust
clip.
One thing I'd like to see is a little more development on the animation
front. More tools, more flexibility and greater speed optimization. Not
that Opal anims aren't outstanding already, they're pure eye candy. But
with all the recent developments in Amiga anim formats, I'd hope that the
sme could be done for Opal anims.

Richard, I agree. This board is the hottest thing on the Amiga right now It
will only get better once the modules are released. I saw them talking to the
Scala people. I hope you can use Scala's anim format on Opalvision.
My local Dealer told me their were approx 175 opalvisions sold at WOCA. I
dunno if he meant BY opaltech themselves or all totoalled.
Wow, 175 Opals sold at WOA. See that Ben, 175 new customers waiting for some
cool 3rd Party application. Maybe that thing your looking at could be
available in Version 10?

Hope ya enjoyed yer Time away from here hehehehehe. I'm here to PESTER you
some more. I used IM 9.5 to Create a 20 frame FLI of the BDGIRL.
I uploaded this to a Local BBS here in NY and the Sysop tried it on his
486 and it Refused to run no matter which FLI viewer he tried. Have Any
ideas???? I can load frames from it back into IM with no problems BTW.
He probably needs a newer viewer – they aren't FLI frames, they are FLC
frames, which is the latest and greatest autodesk standard. You can get
viewers here on CIS that will show them PD; and of course any AutoDesk s/w
will handle them as well. We *read* FLI and FLC; but we only write FLC.

AHA, Thats Probably it. I'll have to Lambast Steve Lao on his own BBS
now.
He needs a FLC VIEWER NOT a FLI viewer. Actually I think I have a FLC
viewer on one of my CDROM's. Thanx for the quick response Ben. Always
Aprreciated.

What is the policy going to be in regard to those of us who are already
enrolled in the autoupgrade program and expiration / renewal. Obviously we
would prefer moving to V10 under the program. But I would understand if
this is not possible. Just please let us know what you decide to do.

It'll very likely be possible; that's the current plan. You can renew up
until the end of the program (1 yr + 1 month from now, about) and we'll
prorate it for the number of months you add on… and that'll be it. After
that, things will be different.

"prorated" amount due? I have NO idea when my year is up.

EWWWWWW Thats STINKY, I'm so spoiled by the Autoupgrade prg. Oh well, I
guess it wasn't cost effective for you guys.
No, actually it's not a cost issue – it's more related to upcoming changes
in the product line – the Autoupgrade program will most assuredly
re-emerge later in a new format.

Ahhhhh, thats good to hear. I don't mind paying more, the Autoupgrade paln
is SUPER CONVENIENT. Pay once and get all upgrades for a year, I like that
sooooooo much better than having to write a check everytime I need an
upgrade.
