#Multimedia Windows

You have to have the multimedia extentions for windows (MME) from
Microsoft, unfortunately the only way to get them is bundled with a sound
card such as Pro Audio Spectrum or Sound Blaster Pro ($70 extra)
It is evidently a CDROM with Windows ver 3.0a plus MME, I am waiting for
mine from MediaVision after buying a Pro Audio Spectrum last week.
If you don't want to go that route I'll buy your Beethoven off you cheap

Cheers, David
Thanks David.
Even if I get MME do you think that "Beethoven" will work with my Sony
7205? I've heard that it has trouble with MPC.
What do you think is the best sound card?

There was a previous message here from someone that is using the SONY 7205
with MM Beethoven without any problems.
Thanks Dwight! I'll check the earlier messages.

Robert–
Nick Arnett, the sysop of the Multimedia forum on CIS, has posted a message
indicating that the Multimedia Extensions are available at retail from any
IBM dealer because of IBM's Windows contract with Microsoft. That's
assuming, of course, that the dealer knows what you're talking about when
you ask him. Nick says the price may be a bit higher, but at least you
don't have to buy an upgrade kit.

Thanks Jim.
I guess I'll go and buy a copy of MME. From what others say, I should be
able to run Beethoven from my 7205.
-Robert
Beethoven is a pretty easy disk to run, as it seems to play most audio from
the audio track. Animations in Encyclopedia are much tougher, e.g. my slow
drive runs Beethoven fine, but won't do real time animations.
Thanks Dave.
I'm going to go and buy MME and give "Beethoven" a try.
