#Disk Recovery App's?

Hi Nancy,
I haven't got the ultra-new version of the said de-fragmentation software, but
Pete (?) has and uploaded it today, so it should be around in a day or two. As
far as I know it takes a little while between upload and being able to download
it. Your pleas sound like your HD is in "the need" <g>.

Oh, thank you. I'll d/l it as soon as I see it. I'm not 100 % sure my hard
drive is "in need," but I suspect it is, as my access time just isn't what
it should be. I have done a lot of adding and deleting lately, so it's
logical to assume that things are getting pretty fragmented.
Thanks again!

Sounds like it's "in need". It doesn't take all that long for a hard disk to
get fragmented in a way that slows it down. Another way of de-fragmenting, but
alot lot slower is to re-format, or restore a backup of it.

Is Re-Org save enough to use without doing a full backup first? (She asks
hopefully.)

Ask a silly question…………..
Yes Re-org IS safe enough, but NOTHING is ful-proof. My HD is split 2 ways 8Mb
for the bootable HD, which I back-up and also a 71Mb for games, business data,
which I have not backed-up (except the business data bits etc.) As yet I have
never had Re-org fail on me and that's after maybe twenty goes. As long as the
power doesn't fail etc everything should be OK. Just remember it always MIGHT
happen to you!. 🙂
