#A1200 RGB Port Help!

Hi… I'm helping a friend set up his shiny new A1200 to use RGB with his
Sony KV-1311CR monitor, and I've run into a stumbling block. We are trying
to make the RGB cable to go between the two, and the electrical
connections seem straightforward, but the only problem is that I can't
find a source for the DB-23 connector that the Amiga uses for the video
port. I can find plenty of 9,15,25,37, or 50 pin plugs, but NO 23-pin
plugs.
Does anyone know where I can find a source for a female DB-23 plug?
Alternatively, is there a firm that can make the cable we are trying to
put together? Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks!

Although not terribly graceful, you could do what Digital Creations did
with the original Supergen: Get a DB25 and chop it down with a razor saw.
Not terribly elegant, but…it works.

Jonathan: I thought of chopping the end off a DB25, but I'll leave that up
to my friend to decide if he wants to do that. Chris gave me numbers for
Redmond Cable, and I think he'll look into that first.
I can't figure out for the life of me WHY the Amiga has a non-standard
connector for the video port, especially one that is only 2 pins off from
an industry standard plug. oooohhh!
BTW, you can't STILL be entombed in ice & snow up in Albany! Can you?

There is *still* some (although very few) ice and snow piles around…even
though we have not had freezing weather in quite a while. Hopefully, we won't
end up with a mid-April snow (like what happened in the midwest this week).
Probably should change the message, hmm?
Good luck with your cable. Although DB-23 is not really "standard", with
several million Amigas out there, perhaps it should be.
