THAT's the problem with me only checking in here every few days… my news isn't always timely enough. Well, I'm glad you found it wherever! –Bob

Ed: I see your reply to Tim Byers. I just got my Cali 24. Are you capable of bringing up the program without the scanlines and flicker? I seem to be stuck in 320×400 resolution "and I can't get up." 😎 Also, do you endure humongous blips on your display when using key macros in lieu of the LMB when selecting coordinate systems, axes, transforms, or EYE/OBJ reference of operations? I must say that this AGA chipset has added more than a few complications as has the appearance of the 68040 CPU. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. 😎 Regards Tom (via Whap!)

I get full overscan/hires/interlace on a 1200 on a Sony 1302 monitor (looks nice). No flicker/scanlines. Do you have the upgrade (3.0a)? And, yes, I get those wonderful screen flashes; with a multisync, the monitor tries to sync to the flash, with pyrotechnic results. -Ed

I'll be darned. Those flashes had me a little bit scared. I have no upgrade at this stage. I only returned my registration about two weeks ago after I saw your reply to someone else relative to Caligari 24. I saw your reference to the upgrade and decided I better get with it. 😎 I was waiting until I could compile a list of all the bugs I could find. I suppose patience is not always a virtue, huh? I get full overscan and interlace. Maybe I am in hires, too, and don't know it. My problem lies in the flicker and scanlines. How do you like the 1200, and is it fast enough to satisfy you? Regards Tom (via Whap!)

Yeah, Octree have been real good about tech support/upgrades with me. I was modemed a patch, and later received a bigger patch via US Snail, but alas, still screen flashes (the MultiSync hates that!). The A1200 is a great modeler (I have 6MB plus a 25 mHz 68882 in it), and a great second, portable (?) machine. I found an old Panasonic Exec Partner case that fits perfect for the A1200 (using the C= supplied foam). I also have a 50 mHz '030/882 A2000 (via GVP) for rendering, networked with ParNET (a great trick, that). So far, the screen refreshes as OK, but I noticed a slowdown relative to an A3000 when running PlayMation. -Ed

Ed… I don't think so I got hold of them and found out that for the A1200 I really need Caligari24, since it has a Ham8 framebuffer. I've not heard about a patch. Overall I like the program but the doco is not a whole lot of help in helping me understand how to get what I want. The video that came with it is of marginal value. Still on the steep side of the learning curve… Tim
