Nancy, I noticed you are knowledgeable about BB. Perhaps you can help me with a mouse problem. I just installed an A2386SX and a VGA card. The install was successful except I can't get a mouse on the MS-DOS side. I modifed my AUTOEXEC.BAT file as suggested in the manuel with the JANUS add to the path statement and added AMOUSE and ATIME to the end of the file. On the MS-DOS shell screen there is no mouse cursor. When I switch back to the Amiga screen there is no window showing the mouseserv is active. Switching back to DOS and running AMOUSE I get the message that it is already installed, back on the Amiga screen I then can see the bar saying the mouseserv is active and it will switch between the two ports with left Amiga-P toggle. Still no mouse on the DOS shell. I am able to run a game (Global Conquest) from the virtual drive but again the program tells me no mouse is installed when I use the keyboard toggle between keyboard and mouse controll. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. David

I am not an expert at all. Everything you have done sounds fine to me. Just about everything I know about the BB, I have learned from the true experts on this board, especially Don Curtis. I am sure one of them will respond to your message, though, so have faith. Good luck, …..Nancy In Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Try taking amouse out of your autoexec.bat and running it after you boot up. Does the mouse run without the VGA card installed? Dave Elite MicroComputers – Flying high on AutoPilot

Dave, I did what you said. Without the VGA card I can get a cursor on the Dos Shell screen but it will not respond to the mouse in either port. The cursor will respond to the keyboard arrow keys. Thanks, any other suggestions? David

Where are you running Amouse, in your autoexec.bat? try running it for the DOS prompt. What does your Amiga PC-Prefs look like? Load segment should be D000 And Janus should be shadowed Dave Elite MicroComputers – Flying high on AutoPilot

Dave, I did the " pcreset and binddrivers " thing as suggested by Don Curtis and now the mouse works. Thank you for all your suggestions. Does your company do mail order? David

Yes we do mail order. We are the manufactures of the 486 BridgeBoard, ever see one of our Ad's? I dunno why what Don said worked ( this isn't the first time either :> ), but I'm happy it solved your problem. Dave Elite MicroComputers – Flying high on AutoPilot

David, There is a bug in AMOUSE which shows up in DOSSHELL, I think. Do you have it set for GRAPHICS (a little arrow) or TEXT (a block cursor)? The text cursor works fine, but the graphics cursor turns the wrong way. Marion CROSSINGS Newsletter for the Bridgeboard, etc.

Marion, Don Curtis suggested I run the script: pcreset (then) binddrivers and it solved my problem with the mouse. Thanks for answering my request for help. David
