There seems to be tons of CD's around some good, many bad. Is there a good forum or a recommendation of a good magazine that discusses available cd's and evaluates them. PC, PC world etc will have the odd review of one or another, but I'm interested in something more comprehensive

Dale: There's a new magazine called CDROM World on the newstands across the country, as well as CDROM Professional which is appearing on increasing numbers. Also look for a new pub – the Multimedia Handbook and Buyers Guide – due out early this summer with lots of reviews. Best – Rich Bowers

Dear Mr Bowers, I am the editor of a new publication called, "The CD-ROM Reporter". It is a bi-monthly newsletter that costs $14.95/6-issues. I'll send anyone a free issue to see if they think it is something they might be interested in or have comments for improvement. Each issue contains about 6 in-depth reviews, technical article, etc… Kind Regards, Rob Kerbs 74650,1106

Rob: ** $14.95 ** a year!? Even if you just published recipes, that would be a deal. And I am sure you meant to encourage everyone who might want to request an issue to contact you by e-mail, right? Not forum messages. Thanks for the posting. Rich Bowers

Send me a copy, please: we are a traditional electronic publisher moving into CDROM in order to produce more substantive texts than 99% of those presently available on cd-rom–i.e. reference works and art books. Terry Brogan Leximetrics 1232 Oakland, Suite 3 South Bend, IN 46615 Thanks.

Rob, Is your CD-rom Reporter available in an electronic format? If so, I would be interested in subscribing. Ted

This is a bi-monthly publication ($14.95/6 issues) that includes: About 6-reviews (in-depth – not typical mkt/sales), an article on technical aspects, etc.. Pick up a copy of Nautilus…a monthly magazine on CD ROM. They have an extensive collection of mini-reviews that will, at the very least, help you to decide which discs bear further investigation. They'll send you a sample issue for only $5! Call 1-800-637-3472

Dale, We run the CD-ROM BBS, essentially for CD-ROM Reviewers, but we do publish most of the reviews on this BBS. If you'd like to dial in, it's (817) 582-0672 8/1/N 14.4 V34/42 bis, etc. We do multiple reviews on each titles so a potential buyer can benefit from reading the viewpoint of many reviewers. Rgds Jan
