This is a follow-up to my last message saying I discovered that Rev D of the PAS 16 is "jumperless" – you can change IRQ levels from software. This seems to be an important improvement to me. I decided to try to order the new revision (which has been shipping in the last 6 weeks), and it isn't so easy to get it. I looked on the Ziff Buyer's Direct and got a long list of places selling the PAS 16 for good prices. I called Dell and Hard Drives International, and they both said they couldn't guarantee which version they had, and they had no way of checking what was in their warehouse. (I CAN order it, see what I get, and then send it back if necessary, but I'd prefer not to go through this). I called Media Vision back and they gave me the part number. Rev. D is Part # 670-0044-01. I ended up finding a relative with a smaller computer business who is trying to order it from her distributor (one of her distributors has listed it, the other hasn't). If others reading this have discovered where to order this, please let the rest of us know. Thanks. Harriet

Harriet: I am considering purchasing a PAS 16. Does it allow you to use an IRQ higher than 7? If so what IRQ's above 7 does it allow you to use. .. Ron 24-Apr-93 21:49

I've sent you by E-Mail a copy of a reply I wrote to Joe Greer (mine was a reply to message 46704) on the same point. The answer is, I'm not completely sure, and think it would be safer to ask Media Vision directly, but I thought the tech support person told me that it supported several high IRQ levels including 10.
