C++ availibility
6 messages in this thread
Does anyone know of any good C++ compiliers out there. I only know of the
Lattice version and hear that this is to be discontinued. Is there an
Email address for Lattice so that I can query this with them or is any
company producing C++.
Thanks
Matt AP from NZ
Commeau Computing makes a C++ for the Amiga. We have it. We're still
learining it.
Great – how much is it and how can I get a copy. Are there any details on
CIS about it like class library support etc.
Thanks
Matt AP from NZ
Perhaps Greg will step in here and give you the information. We
ordered it directly from Commeau Computing (I don't have their
address handy)

The AmigaDOS port of Comeau C++ 3.0b With Templates is US$250. You get a
license directly from Comeau Computing.

You mean like in a LIB? No, not at the moment.
Perhaps this might be helpful:
Answers to common questions about Comeau C++ 3.0b With Templates for AmigaDOS:
* Debugging:
The SAS/C *6.0* CPR now functions with Comeau C++'d executables.
Manx SDB has all along.
* Pricing:
Comeau C++ 3.0 With Templates for AmigaDOS, MS-DOS, and UNIX 386/486
(and Atari, OS/2, and COHERENT 4.0 ports when they become available)
based machines costs US$250 per license. Please contact us for pricing
on our other ports.
International shipping is $US60 and is *strictly* a pass along
of the charge that the shipper charges us (in fact we pay more than $60).
* Regarding payment and ordering:
If you mail payment, it *MUST* be in US dollars drawn from a US bank
(Thomas Cooke, VISA, or American Express Traveller's cheques are perfect).
Conversely, if you have a credit card (we accept all major cards except
American Express), you can go that route in which case we'd recommend that you
fax us a signed order if possible. No matter what the case, we need your full
name, address, postal code, room numbers, etc, your full telephone number
(customs will hold up the shipment if it doesn't have it, and if domestic,
we want it anyway), and if you're paying by credit card, the full name, card
number, and expiration date on the card. Further, we need to HAVE YOU STATE
the product and shipping prices and your agreement to them in your order.
* Regarding upgrades:
a) A SAS/C 6.0 patch is available and is a free upgrade.
It is called Comeau C++ 3.0b.
b) Comeau C++ 3.0.1 is also being prepared. This will be a free upgrade
as well.
c) There will be a US$30 international shipping charge if next day air
shipping is wanted on upgrades. The converse is that it does not go air,
and that it might take weeks even under the best of circumstances.
And as above: the $30 will be strictly a pass along of the charge that
the shipper charges us.
* Regarding requirements:
Comeau C++ works with AmigaDOS 1.x and 2.x's. It is expected that you have
2M of RAM and a hard drive (Comeau C++ uses about 1M of your hard disk).
Comeau C++ does require that you have a version of rexx (comes with
AmigaDOS 2.0), and a C compiler (currently those officially supported are:
SAS/C 5.10a and above (including SAS/C 6.0), or Manx Aztec C 5.0d and above
(others are in progress). All functionality is 100% transparent if these
requirements are met.
* How to Contact us:
Our Usenet .signature is below and says it all re contacting us.
In general, you are almost always better of contacting us electronically,
even if ordering, and especially for technical support.
