Thanks for the info. To answer your question about the TWAIN standard for Flatbed scanners, I will quote some info from the Feb. 8, 94. issuse of PC Magazine. "Another major development on desktop scanning has been the widespread acceptance of the Twain applications interfce standard. (According to the Twain committee, Twain is not an acronym; it represents the union of applications and input devices.) Twain is a software interface that eliminates the need for every scanner manufacturer to write its own drivers. Rather, by automatically installing as a subprogram, Twain permits a user to scan directly into an application….." Also; "TWAIN Drivers, which provide a standard interface between peripherals and applications, have attained near-universal acceptance in the scanner arena. Thruogh Twain, scanning is simplified: Images can be scanned directly into applications…… Some better-quality Twain drivers have features like controls for color correction, highlight and shadow, color prescan, cropping, and zoomable prescan." To answer your question regarding special interface cards. Most of the new Flatbed Scanners have SCSI interfaces as a standard. So, with that I would like to re-ask a question to All who read this. Are there any Amiga software programs that are Twain compatible? I would like to use the HP ScanJet IIcx or the Microtek ScanMaker IISP with the Amiga. Both of these scanners are SCSI and Twain compatible. Thanks for the info Larry. Russ W.
