5 As a new user of Anipro, your uploads are invaluable. Please keep them coming. I'm looking into taking a course on Anipro, but time is at a premium these days, due to my work schedule. Therefore, I rely on what I glean from this forum. Since I received the program, I've spent most evenings working with it, and have created some nice stuff, but now the awesome things you do. You're an inspiration. I've just been given a fantastic animation project at work that can be done in my "free" time, and I look to people like you to help me. Thanks for your contributions. I hope Autodesk appreciates you as much as we all do. Regards, Maura

Dave – telecourses?? Details! Nik

/* Dave – telecourses?? Details! */ Gads, just when I thought we've broadcasted wide and far, I get a response like this. 🙂 Okay, Nik, you decide how best to make this information available. I discussed with Chris Allis the telecourses which NAAUG is offering this year on the ACAD/NAAUG forum which include 3DS and ANI courses. Mark McGraw is teaching the ANI course. We're 50% completedat this point, and have discussed the need for either a NAAUG forum, or a seperate section under ACAD, ASOFT and ARETAIL forums…. but Chris offered a good suggestion (and I think another TM here or in ACAD forum said the same thing) it would be far easier to keep all NAAUG telecourse activities where they are but broadcast them as opening screen material in the ASOFT and ARETAIL forums. The courses are free, but maye require NAAUG membership in later semesters. We have more than 500 students registered at this time…. a very successful program so far to say the least, and we'rte finding that many of Mark's course segments so far have helped many Animator Pro users. If you need more info on specifics and think of a better way to make sure tappers here know about the program, let me know, I'll call you direct. -dave Nik

Dave, I've downloaded the NAAUG files but haven't looked at them – I would think a posting of them wouldn't be bad. As far as a NAAUG section, or something that NAAUG could be a part of, I will talk it over with some of the others here. It's hard for us ASOFT-ers to go over to ACAD! Nik

Whatever it takes to bring these resources to the asofters, we're willing to accomodate. If there's something we can do ASOFT forum wise to make this process easier for asofters to access the telecourse files and take part, let me know please. Thanks -dave

Dave, I see quite a bit of activity in the NAAUG section over in the ACAD forum. I wonder if we can get something going for the multimedia side of things by opening up a NAAUG/UsrGrp/AdeskU section here in the ASOFT forum. Dave, could you write me a description of NAAUG that could serve as an announcement and introduction for the multimedia forum members? If you think it would be worth it, we'd like to get a NAAUG section open here. The newsflash is a good idea, but a forum would work better. If nothing happens after a while, we can always phase it out right?! Nik

Nik and all PMJI, at AdeskU last year Michele Bousquet, Nancy White, and I were elected to act as a steering committee on getting the NAAUG 3DS/Multimedia SIG going. Michele will represent International, Nancy – Western NA, and I'll be a rep for Eastern NA. Next months NAAUG newsletter will kick things off and we'll be glad to hear any input from forum members as to how they see NAAUG being able to help with local User Groups or as a link to Autodesk. I can be contacted here on CIS as can Michele when she stops long enough to pick up her messages<g>. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with as well, Nik. "Let me know if there is anything I can help you with…" Thanks Ted. We're hoping to get a NAAUG section here in the ASOFT forum, and it's terrific that you have Nancy and Michele with you. I'm sure you'll be getting some good input from the ASOFTers. Nik

If you're in the process of organizing the sections, we'd appreciate being section #7 for ease of remembering for our members (as we're #7 on ACAD). /* Dave, could you write me a description of NAAUG that could serve as an announcement and introduction for the multimedia forum members? Dave, thanks. I'm not sure if we can do section 7 – we were planning to combine HyperChem with the CHAOS section, which would leave section 8 available. However, I don't know how difficult, or how much havok it would cause to do section 7 – I'll check. Nik

One less thing for newcomers (and oldcomers) to remember. Thanks for checking. -dave

"As trivial as it might sound, it would make our task of telling people where to find us much easier if the numbers were the same." I just read the news flash with GO ACAD – they're rearranging forums there! I'll see if we can't coordinate. Nik

/* I just read the news flash with GO ACAD – they're rearranging forums there! I'll see if we can't coordinate. */ Ditto. I guess we'd just be happy if we could have the number be the same for the message and the file section in both forums. Some easy way to refer people to the same materials in either forum. Gads, just when we thought we had this all down… 🙂 Is ASOFT going through the same re-organization? -dave

"Is ASOFT going through the same re-organization?" I believe so. Brian Rudolph and Jeffrey Pike might be the ones to ask for more information, if you desire. Nik

Are you kidding? Free telecourses in the ACAD forum for Anipro users? Please let me know. I'm very interested indeed. Thanks. Regards, Maura
