What is the meaning of a 'No RAM for BITMAP' error when doing command line
rendering with Rel. 3?
My situation is a very large project file (1.9M) with a lot of bitmaps in
the materials used. Everything works fine under DOS, but this project file
continually will bomb under OS/2, although I haven't had any other problems
with Rel 3 & OS2. The error seems strange since the program actually has more
memory available under OS/2 than it does under DOS.

George, have you tried increasing the MVDM setting "DPMI_MEMORY_LIMIT" in the
DOS Settings page. That setting tells 3DS3 how much memory is available.
Depending on your available OS/2 swapper disk space you may be able to set the
value at 64Meg or higher. I hope this helps. Doug.
Doug,
I've got that set to 28Meg, the highest I can tolerate without the swap
file filling up, which is still more than its has under DOS, 16M in my case.
The strange thing is that I haven't had the problem with other, smaller project
& mesh files.
George.
