equivalent.
The left side may be case-sensitive if the email program on that system
requires it to be so, but that's extremely rare, so for the most part, the
entire adress is case-insensitive.
Where case _is_ a problem is in the unix (and therefore, FTP) file
systems. If you don't get the case down correctly, you'll get "file not
found."
