#Filetransferproblems
9 messages in this thread
Hi,
I've some trouble with the Filetransfer at 9600bps under bplus and/or quickb.
The problem is this: the transfer start(you see it on receive LED at the Modem,
a ZyXEL U1496E+) then the transfer stops after a few seconds and after another
few secs it continues. Nearly everytime the break is longer than the
transmission. I think it is the transferprotokoll 'coz i tested my Modem with
CIM on a PC (sorry 🙂 Maybe one of you had the same problem and can help me. Is
there a better version of xpkbplus.library, I'm using Version 1.1 – 8th June
1992 by Terence Finney. My Commprogramm is Term3.1 by Olaf Barthel

Jochen,

Is your library compressed ("xpk"), or was that a typo? My library is
titled xprbplus.library ("xpr") and it is version 1.1. Could that be your
problem?
Mel Greer (via AutoPilot)
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I'm sorry. That was a big mistake. Of
course ist ist xpR not xpk.
thnx Jochen
My suggestion would be to either update Term to the current (3.4) or get a
better term program. Take a look at Terminus or BackTalk, both in Library
5 (as is Term 3.4).

Thnx i'll try this, but i the meantime i fixed some problems with the xprymodem
library and the transfer works a bit better, but because I hva a GVP SeriesII
Host Adapter(SCSI) i have to transfer to Ram: otherwise an CRC-Error caused by
Harddiskaktivities will STOP the transmission, I hope that bplus will work
soon!

Hi there Jochen, I was having the same probvlems as you a few weeks back,
there are going to be lots of people who tell you this, but when
connecting with Compuserve the easiest and cheapest way in the long run is
to use AUTOPILOT… its so much better. The program was written specific
for Amiga and will do everything you require. On average it has cut my
online sessions from around 20 minutes a week to about 4-5 mins for the
same amount of work. No kidding this thing is HOT STUFF!!! O.K. it
costs in the beginning but you WILL make that money back…. You can get
hold of a cut down version to try… free of charge. But I can't remember
where it is, ask the sysop for advice. Ich w|nche dich ein guten tag!
( P.S. is that the correct German for `I wish you a nice day???!!!' :8^)=

Paul,
re: your P.S. – nearly perfect, the fully correct term would read
"Ich wuensche dir einen guten Tag" ("ue" standing for the u umlaut…)
// Chris coming in from Germany
\X/ on AutoPilot 1.061……….
Hi Paul,
I wuensche Dir einen guten Tag!, as far as I can remember.
From a German living in England.

Hi Paul, sorry but I wasn't here two dayz. Hmm I've tested this AP (I had this
piece of software a time before I had a CIS-Account) but I don't like it! I
like a AmiCIM with an integrated 'Navigator' and maybe there will come one!!
That problems with the Transfer is nearly fixed. That with your German is
already replied, but thats a 'normal' mistake that Not-Germans make. It's the
same in da French language
thnx for Replies CU Jochen
