#Jumper Settings GVP S-II

Hi,
Does anybody have the RAM jumper settings for the GVP SERies II card? I have it
set to 6 megs at the moment and would like to reduce it to 4 or 2 megs. I
can't find my manual to make the changes 🙁
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Thanks for your help.. I have my system up and running now. But I also have
just one more question.
I removed my HD from the board and placed it on another board, and so I now
have to tell the GVP board not to boot. There are two jumpers marked BOOT right
next to the RAM jumpers. Are you able to provide me with the info on how those
BOOT jumpers should be set? Right now I don't have any jumpers set on it and
it seems to work. But I just want to be sure 🙂

You are referring to the jumper J4. There's no mention in the board's
user guide, that I can find, to tell you what to do with this jumper.
I suggest you ask GVP themselves in the AMIGAVENDOR forum.

for the GVP Series II HC+8, the one you have, only to the top one of
the two is significant, that is J4. As I recall, shorting it prevents
autobooting, but this is not addressed anywhere in the manual.

Maybe it's the other way around.. since I had J4 shorted and was autobooting
with my HD on ID #0. I took the short off and things seem to be working fine.
I guess I'll have to ask GVP just to make sure. 🙂

wouldn't suprise me. I was working from memory. I finally got beast
back in one piece and am loathe to dissassemble it again. Which brings to
mind the sequence from "Short Circuit," "NO DISASSEMBLE!"

Thanks for the suggestion.. I didn't even notice that you wrote Tech instead of
Vend.. but I knew they were in the vender forum anyways 🙂
Anyhow I got the info I needed and so I don't need to ask GVP tech. I tried
calling them up on Friday… what a waste of time. Went through their voice
menu (many times), and finally decided that I'd have to contact a dealer for
support as their voice mail said. So I selected their option for a dealers
list.. and they said the option wasn't available yet, and that their offices
are only open from Mon-Thurs noon-5pm.
I then called Creative Computers in CA, and they wouldn't help me since I
didn't buy the board from them.
It was much easier to just post a msg here 🙂

Looks like you have the same problems getting support that everyone in the
computer world does <g>.
First thing I do if I've got a problem that I can't solve, is post a
message on CIS…
