#Ani Pro Future
8 messages in this thread
Dear Sirs,
As a long time (I guess time is relative in this market) user of Ani Pro here
are my wishlist items.
24 bit color (the hot machines out there CAN do it) Windows Version
Also,
I was very dissapointed with the relatively expensive 1.3 upgrade the font
handling is not very nice at all.
Is AniPro now a product at the end of its life? I've seen no evidence of a
follow up as all the attention shifts to 3D Studio yet, for some of us (I do
instructional videos) 2D is sufficient and affordable.
Regards and thanks for a good product.

While I am not allowed to talk about future releases of products, I can say
that Animator Pro is most certainly not a dead product around here! Also, 24
bit and Windows support have been the most requested wishlist items in the
past, and as you know, we try to base the features of new releases on the
wishlists from the previous version.

'nuff said Brian. Look forward to the next Ani. I know it'll be great. Don't
know if this has been suggested but I'd like to see Ani handle multiple LIVE
objects. That is to say cels that do not have to be rendered into the
background bitmap. I guess the nearest equivalent would be Macromedia Director
cast members.
Ian.

Interesting… Thanks for the Wishlist items. Added to the list.

Yes,
As -G says…
Send in the bug report and state as the bug you wish for Windows support and/or
text anitaliasing, you will be shipped a 1.3a version.

Ray, as Brian says, AAP is very much alive in the Autodesk R&D dept. Jim Kent
is at Autodesk, working exclusively on it. Yost Group has been working on 3D
Studio exclusively now for almost 2 years.

PS: There's an update to 1.3 called 1.3a that fixes a few Phar Lap problems
but ALSO includes antialiased text… it greatly improves the font package.
If you send in the bug report at the back of your manual reporting a Phar Lap
bug with Windows, you can get the new version. Nik Grant or Brian or Jonas
would have more details about that for you.
Ray,
Thanks for your wishlist requests for AAPro. Got 'em.
