Steve or anyone HELP! Does anyone have fractint.020aga running yet? I have tried. The docs indicate it should be run from the shell with no command line arguments necessary. I tried this and continued to get the message "Unable to load fractint.020aga" My configuration is a stock A1200HD – no accelerator and only 2M Chip Ram. The only nonstandard things I have running are WShell2.0 and ToolManager2.1 Is it possible that there are files missing from the FRCAGA.LHA archive? It is ~600KB vs the ~900KB of the FRACT.LHA that was originally uploaded. FRCAGA contains no Amiga specific doc file, so there's no help there. Thanx in advance, Stuart

Stuart, Both the .020aga and .881aga versions run on my machine (A4000). There are are no files missing other than the C source.

I suspect the thing is compiled to load into Fast RAM only. (How stupid can Commodore get, shipping AGA machines with only Chip RAM?!) BTW, do you have Terje Pedersen's address handy? I had it, but then I deleted it because I figured it would be in the program or docs somewhere. Well, I need to ask him some questions / report some bugs, and I can't find it anyplace.

There is a later version available than what is here … I'll upload it over the weekend if I remember.

Thanks! This is a *fantastic* program, but the bugs and lack of documentation of what is and isn't ported are making the learning curve steeper than it should be. (My only having an ECS machine isn't helping either.)

Jim, The A4000 ships with plenty of fast ram. People want an inexpenisve entry point machine–the A1200 is it. Give Commodore a break ok? (grin) -mark= Otto Pilot Engaged..
